Winter Franconia Notch Elopement: Megan & Jake

Megan & Jake reached out with a vision for their special day. A beautiful winter wonderland filled with all of their favorite things, snow and mountains. Is there a better combination?

The perfect location was a pristine frozen mountain lake in none other than Franconia Notch State Park of New Hampshire. We couldn’t have asked for a better day. The sun was shining down and warming the winter landscape, and with no wind we couldn’t have been happier hikers. It was only ten degrees outside, but you didn’t hear a single complaint out of this pair. They were too happy getting married and starting the next adventure in life together!

Megan and Jake also chose their location so they would have access to an AMC hut in case we got cold, with a roaring wood stove it turned out to be the best idea. We found a private part of the lake for their first look and ceremony. Soon after the ceremony the light turned golden around us and lit up Franconia Ridge in a deep purple/magenta hue. We all stared in awe of the beauty of the winter sunset. As the light dimmed we hiked back thankful for the warmth of being together on this happy and perfect day.
