Intimate Lakeside Estate Wedding in New Hampshire

Becca & Sam first reached out on a very tight timeline. The couple had their big wedding in Maine all planned out for September 2024, but with Sam’s father in declining health the couple opted to push their wedding date up to their engagement party in order to make sure Sam’s father could be fully present on such an important day.

Sam told me the wedding was to be held at the family’s private lake house in southern NH. I expected a larger cabin on the lake, but what I was greeted with made my jaw drop. It was a beautiful 1902 estate I immediately fell in love with. The home was perfectly kept and surrounded on all sides by flower gardens all in bloom. Sam’s grandfather purchased the home decades ago and it has been with the family ever since.

With Sam & Becca getting ready in separate rooms in the estate I wandered around finding the best light and most intricate details of this home. The family all pitched in to make every detail just as special for this day. Beyond that, Becca & Sam’s sense of humor and smiles kept the party alive.

Just before the ceremony was set to begin the skies opened up and it poured unlike anything else. I suppose that’s appropriate considering the summer we have been having in New England! The couple did not care and got married surrounded by loved ones and a few umbrellas. After the ceremony we walked over to the chapel next door, frolicked all over the amazing backyard of the estate, and got in the lake for a little paddle in the canoe. Becca even had the rare and perfect opportunity to smash cake directly in Sam’s face without getting it smashed back in her face. Sam didn’t want to smash cake in her face because, “she looked too pretty.”
