Acadia National Park Sunset Elopement: Kelsey & Calvin

There are a lot of beautiful things in the world, but golden hours in Acadia are absolutely among the most beautiful. Kelsey & Calvin chose well for their sunset elopement in Maine. Acadia National Park is one of the most diverse landscapes on the east coast of the United States. Lush birch and evergreen forests give way to dramatic seaside cliffs and peaks rising from the ocean. There is something for almost everyone at Acadia National Park.

We started Kelsey and Calvin’s day in the forests surrounding one of the many mountain lakes on Mount Desert Island near Bar Harbor, Maine. During their vows the wind suddenly picked up carrying their words of love away with each gusts. Kelsey’s hair swirled and moved with wind like each wave lapping on the shore. Calvin’s eyes sparkled at the sight of his stunning and beloved bride. He smiled softly as she spoke.

From there we celebrated their marriage in the best way possible, with an adventure! We hiked to the summit and a few overlooks of a nearby mountain path. Kelsey and Calvin seemed to be aching for a good hike as much as we were. They powered up the steep trail in their elopement attire laughing and smiling all the while. At the first overlook we reached the sun started shining through and paved the way for one of the most colorful sunsets we have ever seen. The sky became cotton candy and the ocean was so calm that it appeared still. The wind came to a halt and we all had to take a moment to stare in wonder at the magnificent landscape before us.
