Acadia National Park & Downeast Maine

Acadia National Park boasts a beautiful and diverse landscape. Here, you can get married under the canopy of an evergreen or birch forest, on a rocky outcropping overlooking the ocean, or while watching the sunrise from Cadillac Mountain. You don’t need any special permits if your party size is under 10 people. Bar Harbor and Mt. Desert Island offer a variety of AirBnbs, hotels, and dining options to make your trip both adventurous and luxurious. Acadia National Park draws thousands of visitors every year, the quietest time to get married here is November through May.

If you are looking to elope in the summer or fall, we suggest checking out other parts of the Downeast region. Blue Hill Peninsula, Deer Isle, the Cutler Coast, and the islands of Penobscot Bay offer all of the drama of Acadia without the crowds. In addition, these are places you can go to truly escape and look into local life.

Baxter State Park & North Woods National Monument

The site of the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail on Mt. Kathadin is also home to some of the most wild and beautiful mountains and lakes in Maine. Imagine eloping on a dock as the sun is setting to the sound of loon calls or going on an epic adventure among highest peaks in Maine! Baxter State Park, may be far from civilization, but we promise that it is well worth the drive.
